WELCOME TO RETURN OF EVIL MOD V1.01 By Yogendra ------------------------------------------------ Intro - First i want to thank you for spending some time to download my mod and play it. THANK YOU !!!! Secondly i wanted to say that this mod does not change the game dramatically.So you won't be seeing any new characters or new spell effects that are found in many mods.There are two reasons behind this.Firstly,i wanted the game to be diablo 2(i.e. i wanted the game to have the same feel,Nostalgia is the reason.)Secondly,i am way too lazy to work my ass off for those changes(as they require a lot of hard work).Still my main reason is the 1st one :) .So i added a lot of features,tweaked things around ,made some changes that would make the game more enjoyable.So one can regard this as a patch more than a mod , but more changes will follow (rest assured).So more info about this mod is given below :- Extraction - Simply extract all files to your diablo ii folder.required folders will be automatically created. Requirements - Diablo ii Lord Of Destruction V1.09b(for the item spell effects to work).To use the mod you have to use the direct text switch.simply right click on the diablo ii shortcut on the desktop and select properties.then in the target window add -direct -txt at the end of the target path and then click apply. Gameplay info - This mod does not strengthen monsters however it increases the difficulty a tad bit for higher levels.So one encounters more unique and champ monsters an stuff but its still playable and not super tough.However this mod was meant for play using the players 8 code.To use this simply start a game.when in town press enter and type players 8.This will make the game a bit harder with monsters having more life but you get lots of experience and the spells have been tweaked for this type of gameplay only. CHANGES IN V1.01 FROM V1.00 :- --------------------------------- 1.Disabled unique charms due to a problem which caused them to spawn without any properties. 2.repaired a few probs where items spawned with weird names. 3.Added 25 new items :- here are the details :- A>Added gemstones which can be used in socketed items and are more powerful than gems.however they rarer.Two levels of gemstones can be found.One is the fragmented type and the other a true type. But to obtain a true gemstone requires you to either find a gem shrine or transmute 6 (yes six) fragmented gemstones into a True Gemstone.There are 6 different Gemstones namely - Moonstone,Earthstone,Bloodstone,Magestone,Lightstone and Sunstone.The true and fragmented versions of the gemstones use beta diablo ii gem graphics. B>Enabled Monster body parts which can be rightclicked to produce an item.There are 10 body parts.4 low level body parts that gives keys,arrows etc when used,5 high level body parts(can be found in higher levels)that produce rings,runes and gems,and a very high level body part namely the soul which produces a random small charm. C>other new items are Spectral Elixirs,which can be used for creating magical and rare items with the horadric cube,Sage Herbs which procure random potions(look out for herbs procuring full rejuv potions ),and The Mighty Fury Orb,a rare find which can be used in socketed items for some great properties or transmuted in the horadric cube to add sockets in rare items or add +1 to all skills property in a rare item. 4.Added a few magical prefixes and suffixes. 5.Some more skill changes. 6.Weapons damage quotas have been tweaked.Now axes get a 125% strength bonus whereas greater types of warhammers have a 150% strength bonus and swords have a 100% strength bonus and a 50% dexterity damage bonus. 7.Armor now absorbs damage.so a Ring mail will soak more damage than a leather armor and a helm will soak more damage than a cap.(all armor pieces have damage soak bonus even class specific armor items). 8.Shrines now give longer benefits and some shrines(even experience and gem shrines)replenish after some time.But the duration is long. ----------------------------------------- Features - The various features of RETURN OF EVIL mod are as follows : - Character related - 1.Character stat upgrades have been changed.so a sorceress recieves more mana when she increases in energy and a barbarian recieves more life when he levels up. 2.speed of barbarian has been increased. 3.characters now start with a class specific item in their inventory. Items related - 4.mana potions are now available. 5.rejuv potions are available through vendors. 6.charms can be purchased through vendors. 7.more rune drops. 8.One new item only , A champion belt whose gfx was used in diablo beta versions.(i used it for item inclusion testing.So new items will appear in the later versions of the mod). 9.Nearly all unique items have been changed. 10.Unique Charms. 11.Items That have Skills have their costs reduced by a huge margin.I have done this to encourage rapid use of charged items which were previously not used because they were very expensive to recharge. 12.gems properties have been tweaked.(like amatheyst now gives a.r.% bonus rather than a.r. bonuses) 13.Some items have been tweaked(bows' damage has been increased as well as their speed,so are two handed swords) Skills related - 14.decripify named as cripple. 15.amplify damage now does 150% more damage. 16.teeth,bone spear,bone spirit damages have been tweaked.Summon skills have been tweaked. 17.zeal now gives damage bonuses along with consecutive hits. 18.auras have been tweaked. 19.combat skills have been tweaked. 20.Now raise upto 10 ravens and 5 dire wolves. 21.druid summonables have been tweaked(so now spirit of barbs have greter bonuses when upgrading them) 22.Druid elemental spell damages have been increased. 23.Lycanthropy now gives more duration and life bonuses. 24.fury has been tweaked. 25.Amazon passive skills have been tweaked. 26.bow and crossbow damages have been increased(mana cost of certain skills decreased). 27.Barbarian warcries now have very long durations.so one can cast them for extended bonuses. 28.Warcries have been tweaked. 29.skill mana costs have been decreased(like whirlwind now costs base mana 10 and frenzy 2) 30.Whirlwind now starts with extended damage. 31.sorceress spell damages have been increased. 32.static field damage has been reduced to 20% nullifying the extra advantage a sorceress has. 33.increased bonuses from fire and cold mastery. 34.assasin traps can now fire 10 times per cast. 35.assasin trap damages have been increased. 36.other casts like burst of speed,venom etc give greater benefits. 37.Assasin cloak of shadow gives duration bonus when upgrading it. (and many other skill changes) Monsters - 38.More unique monsters will spawn. Other Gameplay Changes - 39.Characters now level upto level 110(let somebody reach level 110 and then i will increase it to 125).Also characters will level up much faster . 40.Hirelings now have better skills in higher difficulty levels.(like a nightmare based rogue casts exploding arrows and a hell cold based sorceror casts blizzards whereas barbarians use the berzerk skill) 41.No more experience losses when u die in nightmare or hell. 42.hell divisors(static,cold etc)have been reduced. 43.Higher difficulty monsters now do more damage.
